Let me tell you a little about myself

I started out as a child...... who was born in a small town in southern New Mexico and raised on the outskirts far from town. My father, grandfather and isolation taught me to be self sufficient and frugal. My early education consisted primarily of wood working and auto repair which was a way to start and support my family right out of High School(1977). After working as an auto tech for about eight years, I was approached by a gentleman who was the head of the vocational department at the High School where I graduated about teaching the auto classes. Thus began my teaching career. It was really interesting teaching with people who had put a paddle to my butt in high school. (you could still do that then........) It was around this same time (1986) that my marriage fell apart. Leaving me with nothing but two wonderful children, Rob and Stephanie. In 1995 I moved to Arizona to work for Intel Corp but discovered the factory life was not for me. About this time I met my second wife. While we were dating I left Intel and started teaching in Gilbert Az, This was 1996. In 1997 We bought some land and built a custom home. This property had my first shop on it. 1500 sq feet of wood and auto working pleasure. However: a job change and health issues forced us to find a new home closer to town. That's how we ended up on a 1/4 acre lot where I built a new studio. I had to get rid of most of my auto repair equipment so I would have room for my woodworking tools. I continue to learn and improve my woodworking skills by attending classes and seminars taught by renowned woodworkers like David Marks, Michael Fortune, Garrett Hack, Doug Green, Scott Grove, Andrew Glantz, Don Trapp, Brian Howerton, Bob shields, and many others. That brings us to the present. I am no longer married. I have retired from teaching and am working on building a new shop in New Mexico.

The future........I'll probably get older.

During my Vice Presidency of the Arizona Association of Fine Woodworkers the club brought David Marks from the DIY channel tv show Woodworks to Phoenix for a one day seminar. I had the opportunity to have dinner with Dave the night before the seminar. I have learned much from Dave's TV show as well as his seminar.
