Bedroom Set Entertainment Center

This page has pictures of the process of building the entertainment center.

I'm building a Honduran Mahogany Bedroom set in the Chippendale style.
This is the lower cabinet of the entertainment center.
All the drawers are mounted on 100# Full extension slides.
This is my attempt to add new technology to classic work.

This is the upper cabinet of the entertainment center.
Notice the glued up solid wood side panels.
This cabinet will have Pocket drawer slides
to hide the doors when they are open.

The top is being assembled in this picture.

This is the pediment assembled to the top.

Left is the first attempt at a flame finial. I didn't like the base so next to it is the new rough turning.

This is the new finial in the carving jig I built..

This is the front wiew of the cabinet. There are no pics of the finishing because I had no chance to take pics during the process.
I have many hours in finishing.
Many coats of hand rubbed lacquer.

This is the front wiew of the cabinet with the doors open.It will be used for a 32 inch TV.

This is closeup of the hand carved pediment. I had to build a special router attachement to rough out the curved moldings before carving them.

This is a closeup of the doors.

This is a closeup of the Waterfall Mahogany veneer on the door panels. I built a vacuum veneer system to apply the veneer.

This is a closeup of the dovetail drawers and the full extension drawer slides.

This is a shot of the completed entertainment center.
